What level of care do you provide for seniors (independent, assisted, 24/7 etc.)?
Seniors can choose to live at Leaders Senior Care independently and with the option to receive extra care where they need it in our independent/assisted living suites. Memory care offers specialized care for seniors living with dementia or Alzheimer’s. Seniors can also choose to stay here for a short period of time with respite care.

What services do you provide? Are meals, housekeeping, activities/events, included?
Leaders Senior Care provides all the services and care that seniors need to keep living an active lifestyle. This includes property management and maintenance, housekeeping, security, meals, transportation, fitness programs, and numerous activities and events for all to enjoy. The monthly fees you pay each month to live at Leaders Senior Care include all these services. Home Care, through Alberta Health Services, is provided following an assessment of the care services your loved one is eligible to receive. If you wish to receive care above and beyond what is provided by Alberta Home Care, you can purchase them for an additional monthly fee.
Is my family member eligible for Alberta Home Care Services if they choose to live at Leaders Senior Care?
Yes. As long as your family member is a resident of Alberta. All Alberta residents are eligible to receive Alberta Home Care Services, provided they complete an assessment with their caseworker.
How do I apply for my family member to receive Alberta Home Care Services?
Apply for Alberta Home Care by contacting Alberta Health Services and connecting with a caseworker. Our staff can also help you with your application process.
How do you ensure my family member is eating healthy?
Our team is committed to providing residents with delicious, healthy, home-cooked meals, that are the highest standard of nutrition. Each meal is designed and made from scratch by our red sealed chef and kitchen staff. We use farm-fresh, local ingredients when we can and are always mixing up the menus with new and tasty foods to try.
Do you offer special diets for residents with dietary restrictions?
Yes. All special diets and dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Our kitchen personnel will work closely with residents and health practitioners when required to ensure dietary needs and preferences are met.
Is there someone I can call for updates on my family members health/wellbeing?
You can speak to our Nurse in Charge to put a communication plan in place to schedule calls for updates on your family members status. You can also call the Nurse in Charge anytime for real-time updates or if you have any questions. We have skilled staff on 24/7 with cordless telephones if you cannot connect with your family member.
What sort of activities do you offer?
Fitness programs, arts & crafts, cards & board game nights, movies, social outings, and gardening are just some of the many activities to do at Origin. Our life enrichment coordinators work hard to make sure there are always new and exciting things happening for everyone. Visit our amenities to browse the other activities we offer.
What sort of events do you offer?
There’s always something happening at Leaders Senior Care. Our monthly social calendar is often packed with events including live music, guest speakers, movie screenings, social gatherings, and more. Families are always welcome to attend special events!
How can I contact my family member who is living at Origin?
Every resident has their own private landline in their suite. Please ask your loved one to provide you with their new number so you can always reach them. If you are unable to contact your loved one, our staff members are available 24/7.
**Due to privacy issues, concierge team members are not able to confirm or deny your family members residency, share health status or contact information with anyone, not on your contact list. This policy is for privacy, safety and wellbeing.
How often can I visit my family member? And do I have to plan/schedule my visits?
Family members are welcome to visit any time they want! Friends and family are encouraged to come visit their loved ones at Leaders Senior Care and attend special events. You do not need to schedule your visits, but it is recommended you give the kitchen notice if you wish to dine with us.
For security and safety purposes, all non-community members are required to sign-in and sign-out in the guest logbook located at the front entrance reception desk.
Are your suites and common areas wheelchair/scooter accessible?
Yes, all suites and common areas as well as all building entrances and exits, are fully accessible for walkers, wheelchairs and scooters.
